HJELM™ Gen IV Ballistic Helmet

The HJELM combat helmet from NFM defines a new standard for modularity of equipment and integration of electronics without adding unnecessary excess weight and bulk – compared to older systems. Improved optimization features are complemented by a ballistic shell and Koroyd liner, providing the highest level of protection and comfort available today.

The foundation for the modern battlefield

The NFM HJELM helmet series was developed as a ground infantry platform capable of integrating information technology while protecting against battlefield threats. The core of this system is an inner liner system that comfortably and securely holds the helmet on the head. This is combined with a lightweight shell made of the highest quality ballistic materials, and every gram of performance is optimized using the latest processing techniques.

Edgemount and HASP

What really defines the 4th generation of helmets is the Edgemount attachment system with its unique Helmet Attachment System Pattern (HASP). Unlike traditional rails and Velcro panels, which have limited attachment options and add material to the outside of the helmet, adding weight and bulk whether you attach the device or not, HASP can be integrated only where it is needed.

What makes HASP better than velcro?

Most helmets on the market today are covered with the aforementioned Velcro system for attaching ID tags or other patches and equipment such as IFF devices, night vision goggles, cameras or flashlights. The strength of the connection deteriorates over time with repeated use, so even a Velcro connection that may have been adequate when new can eventually fail. Its strength also depends on the compatibility of the counterpart on the attached equipment, which can also lead to an unreliable connection.

High-strength composite materials

The NFM HASP replaces the stationary Velcro with a structural strip of high-strength composite materials, providing a stronger and more reliable system across the entire surface of the helmet. Devices can now be mechanically attached without the fear of connection failure. The HASP is also removable, so it can be easily replaced in the field if it becomes damaged.

Edgemount versus rail: Less bulk

Most Gen III helmets use a rail system to attach additional equipment to the helmet. Rails are heavier and add more material, bulk, and weight than is necessary when you’re attaching less gear—which is often the case. NFM’s patented Edgemount system provides the flexibility to attach only the accessories you need. So if all you need for a particular task is a flashlight, that’s all the hardware you need.

Edgemount versus Rails: Cables and Connectors

Edgemount also provides a means to integrate wiring and connectors inside the helmet for sensor technologies. This gives soldiers and technology manufacturers the flexibility to optimally configure the technologies, while protecting the wiring and connectors from damage or the risk of getting caught on surrounding objects if they were placed on the outside of the helmet.

Impact protection

The Koroyd tube system minimizes the energy transferred to the head during an impact, as the tubes deform immediately upon impact, thereby absorbing maximum force in a controlled manner. This unique behavior helps protect the skull and brain from impacts, thereby protecting the lives and health of users.

Excellent breathability and cooling

The open cells allow air to flow in constantly, while heated air from the head can easily escape, ensuring effective cooling and breathability even in the most adverse conditions.

Protection has never been so easy

The Koroyd system is made of tubes with the thinnest walls in the world, so the protective layer is 95% air. This reduces weight and increases comfort without compromising safety. You can find your helmet size by measuring the values ​​in the picture below. Choose the smallest size that fits you in length and width, but don't forget to add a few mm so that the helmet doesn't squeeze you and also consider what you want to wear under the helmet.

• Ballistic protection plates IV and higher - for holders of the ACR or PČR service card
• Ballistic protection up to IIIa - for holders of the service card of the Czech Army, the Czech Police, holders of ZP B, D, E

The product is designed and manufactured primarily for use in security forces (Police, Army, IZS units) or for use by people involved in ensuring public order (Municipal Police, established state reserves) or for self-defense. The product is not categorized as PPE, therefore it cannot be used for activities other than the above, in particular it cannot be used for sports activities or for performing security guard activities.
